Jeff Kepler 18/19 Season Edit

Despite starting the season late due to injury, I enjoyed great turns and progressed my splitboarding and mountaineering skills. Fortunately, I was invited to join the Weston Team on a trip to Japan, and we successfully climbed and snowboarded Mount Yotei. In early April, the inaugural Front Range Splitfest hosted an event where we indulged in stable powder, and we enjoyed many excellent splitboard laps and met many new friends. Finally, excellent snowfall and cold temps in Colorado allowed me to complete technical splitboard lines into the late spring. Throughout the season, I focused on riding lines regular and switch to improve my technical skills on my Weston Range Splitboard. Thank you Weston, Purl Wax, Underground Snowboards, Mountain Outfitters Breck, Spark R&D, and everyone else that helped make last season a success.

Spooking the Grouse

The 2018/2019 season was full of powder days. In February, I went splitboarding with some friends in Summit County, and we were rewarded with surfy pow turns. At the top of my line, I spooked a grouse out of the snow and it startled me. Luckily, I was able to enjoy some of the best powder turns I had this season. Days like this prove that life is worth living.

Atlantic Peak V Couloirs

On April 19, 2018, Pat Gephart and I summited Atlantic Peak and snowboarded down the V Couloirs. This was just over a week before my ankle surgery, and I was thankful to have such a great adventure before going under the knife. We were lucky to have great weather and snow conditions on this line. Overall, this was one of the highlights from the 2017/2018 season.

2018 Bozeman Splitfest

In early March, I visited Bozeman with Scott Strevey and Weston Snowboards for the second annual Bozeman Splitfest. This video shows the lines we rode throughout the weekend. Thank you Spark R&D, Map Brewing, World Boards, Weston Snowboards, and all the other sponsors for an amazing event. I’m excited to return again next season.

Arapahoe Basin Pow Day

The springtime in Colorado is often the snowiest. This short edit shows a few laps from Arapahoe Basin, in May. It was a great day with great friends, minimal crowds, and endless fresh lines. I am excited to ride the entire season and experience more pow days like this. All in all, “The Legend” delivered.
